Feeling fully alive on the Wild West Coast
It might not seem like it, but I am both terrified and enthralled by the ocean. While painting this series along the Pacific coastline of Vancouver Island, I was immersed in its untamed beauty. My mind would prefer the safety of a controlled environment, yet the challenge was to embrace the freedom of the wild, along with all the discomfort it brings. That meant hiking canvases up muddy trails, painting in the rain, wind, hail, alongside thunderous waves. Each painting session left all my senses fully alive and buzzing with inspiration.
