Print Process and Materials
All artworks are printed using archival-grade pigments. A natural, heavyweight textured cotton, free of optical brighteners is used for paper prints. Canvas prints are printed on exhibition grade matte canvas and coated with a water-based varnish, which protects against UV ray damage and cracking. The materials and process ensure long-term, archival stability for both paper and canvas prints.
Sizing
Unframed (rolled) print dimensions are exact to what is shown on the store. For example, a 16x20" paper print measures 16" by 20" including the 3/4" white boarder. An unframed 30x40" canvas print includes a 2" border, for a total dimension of 32x42" (the image area is 40x40").
Framed canvas prints will add 1 1/4" to each dimension. For example, a 30x40" framed canvas will measure 31 1/4 x 41 1/4". Framed paper prints add 1"to each dimension. For example, a 16x20" framed paper print will measure 17 x 21" with the frame.
Framing Options
Prints are available framed or, if you'd prefer to manage framing yourself, you can purchase an unframed (rolled) print.
Unframed paper prints have a 3/4" white border, within which is Victoria's signature.
Rolled canvas prints include a 2-inch natural canvas border which allows for stretching on bars up to 1 1/2" deep (we like 3/4" bars).
Framed paper prints are protected with a UV-blocking acrylic and are available in all sizes except for 55X55". Framed canvas is stretched over 3/4" bars and installed in custom made floater frames. Available in sizes 30x40" and larger. All frames are made to order.
When will the original painting be available?
The original painting will go on sale during an online auction held at the end of this year. Dates TBA. Mailing list subscribers will be the first to know of any updates and details.

The story...
April 2024
The third piece in this collection - Comfort of the Coast - portrays the feeling of comfort and memories I’ve made on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
A home away from home...
We first visited this part of the Island in December 2022 to start my “Out of the Woods” Winter series. The year of 2023 was a tumultuous year of celebration, loss and growth. During that time, we kept coming back to this same rest spot to take shelter and comfort. I grew up in BC Canada, so the lush and wild environment of Jordan River reminds me of everything I love about West Coast.

Whether you live on the West Coast or have fond memories of visiting, the wild nature of this place comforts all who come and I want this painting to be a reminder of that.
The creative process...
Rain, sand, and ocean water all made it’s way into this piece. I was literally soaked through with rain from painting the first layer but the experience and result couldn’t be more true to how I feel about the wild West Coast.

Shipped in ok timing, so well packed- the cardboard was a little banged up but it’s was so well packed it didn’t matter. Easy to hang and it looks SO good. I can’t stop looking at it; I love it.

This piece is beautiful in my living room. I'd had a blank wall in my living room that I was waiting to put just the right piece on, Comfort of the Coast caught my eye. Living in the PNW this piece looks like a place that could be just a few miles from my home. I got it matted and framed to match my decor while complementing the art. I love the tranquility of the piece along with the unique style that sets Victoria's work apart. It's a perfect blend of abstract and realism and I love it so much!

I bought Comfort of the Coast for my husband as a gift for Christmas. This past summer, we travelled to Vancouver Island, in particular Jordan River, where I believe Victoria worked on this series. We were with very dear friends while we were there, and they, along with the beauty of Vancouver Island provided us with great peace and content as we navigated some serious health concerns and a difficult period in our lives. The landscape and beach pictured in this work remind me of a place we spent an afternoon at, and of the joy and comfort we felt that day, and that whole trip. Thank you for this beautiful piece of art, and all it means to the both of us.
