Against All, Hope

Print Process and Materials
All artworks are printed using archival-grade pigments. A natural, heavyweight textured cotton, free of optical brighteners is used for paper prints. Canvas prints are printed on exhibition grade matte canvas and coated with a water-based varnish, which protects against UV ray damage and cracking. The materials and process ensure long-term, archival stability for both paper and canvas prints.
Sizing
Unframed (rolled) print dimensions are exact to what is shown on the store. For example, a 20x20" paper print measures 20" by 20" and includes the 3/4" white boarder. An unframed 40x40" canvas print includes a 2" border, for a total dimension of 42x42" (the image area is 40x40").
Framed canvas prints will add 1 1/4" to each dimension. For example, a 40x40" framed canvas will measure 41 1/4 x 41 1/4". Framed paper prints add 1"to each dimension. For example, a 20x20" framed paper print will measure 21 x 21" with the frame.
Framing Options
Prints are available framed or, if you'd prefer to manage framing yourself, you can purchase an unframed (rolled) print. Unframed paper prints have a 3/4" white border, within which is Victoria's signature. Rolled canvas prints include a 2-inch natural canvas border which allows for stretching on bars up to 1 1/2" deep (we like 3/4" bars).
Framed paper prints are protected with a UV-blocking acrylic and are available in all sizes except for 55x55". Framed canvas is stretched over 3/4" bars and installed in custom made floater frames. Available in sizes 30x30" and larger. All frames are made to order.
When will the original painting be available?

1st piece of the Sanctuary Collection
Against All, Hope
The story...
January 2024
This piece was inspired by a pasture near my home; a sanctuary I’ve visited over the last six years to pray, clear my mind, walk aimlessly, and find little treasures with my son. Sunrise is my favourite time to visit as the dawn is a powerful reminder that no matter how deep the darkness of the night, there is always hope in the morning to begin again.
I didn't know why this morning walk wouldn't leave my mind, I just knew I had to capture the feeling of hopefulness, which is what inspired this painting. Months later, when the painting was nearly finished, I realized just how significant that day was...
That morning walk was the same day we found out we were pregnant! This news came after trying for months following our miscarriage. Holding on to hope, instead of the fear of loss, has been a battle and what this scene represents to me has been a great comfort.
